February 2012

So this post is a little out of whack with the timeline-so I'll be jumping around a little-sorry.
These first pictures are of cute little Cameroni's 6th grade Valentine Dance. They have been preparing this for the last few months. Look how excited he looks -he he-check out his form-at least they're touching look at the couple to the right of him. HA!
I actually got the opportunity to sub the Friday before their dance for their regular dance time. It only ended up being about 30 min but the kids seemed to have a lot of fun- a lot different then their regular dance class. I taught them the tango and then a fun dance to Everybody dance now.
Their regular dance teacher let me take a few minutes to do what I taught them during their dance.
Cam and I went a little far out with his Valentine box. A lifesize debonaire, suave robot. The nose and right eye had blinking lights in it. You put the Valentine's in the robots mouth.

I also helped Brooklyn out with her Kindergarten Valentine Party. I actually was going to help during their Halloween party but that was the morning Ethan broke his arm. The last time I volunteered for one of my kids classes was when Cameron was in Kindergarten and Zac in 1st. There is a good reason why too. Ethan was a stink. He first found the basket of plastic balls that he decided to throw all around the room. He hid under the table and tatooed himself pretty good with marker. He kept trying to sneak outside to the playground and sneak the goodies that the other students had got for Valentine's. Anyways- let's just say it will be another good chunk of time before I volunteer again. I found these easy cute DIY paper flowers online. The kids had fun and they turned out really cute.

For Breakfast on Valentine's-nothing fancy- but a heart shaped cookie cutter makes it easy to be a little creative.
The beginning of February we took the kids to Huntsville Park to go skating. We've meant to take them years past but alas-we finally made it. There is a Huntsville BBQ restaurant(that has really yummy food BTW) across the street from the park that you rent skates at-only $2 a pair- and then skating at the park is free for anyone. The kids had fun. Hailey didn't last too long in her skates though. I guess they're not the most comfortable pair of shoes.
The kids had fun playing broom hockey with their dad. Look at the beautiful scenery. I know!!! I can't believe we live in such a beautiful place too!
Jonathan's scout troop had their blue and gold banquet this month. It was fun. The kids made "boats" out of paper that they filled with popcorn for appetizer. We had pasta, salad, and breadsticks for dinner, and the kids did a fun fun obstacle course.
Ethan giving his cheesy grin while playing in the nursery during Blue and Gold
Jonathan showing off his cool magic trick he made at one of his scout activities out of leather.
Wes and I played it low key with a nice Valentine's Day dinner with the whole family at home.
We had shishkabobs with red oninos and red peppers, BBQ ribs, roasted red potatoes with a creamy pink sauce, red salad, and chocolate covered strawberries.
My little cute and sweet Valentine's right before dinner minus my sweetheart Wesley.
So, Ethan is in that stage of not liking to wear diapers. He takes them off if he can. He has went potty in the toilet a few times by himself, but more often than not has left me little surprises around the house. sigh :) This is a typical moment of him in the buff eating something at the bar.
On February 19 we celebrated my hubby's 38th birthday. It was on a Sunday this year and we had Stake Conference that weekend-so not much of a weekend to really party. He wanted a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. I added the edible rice crispy treat police car with fondant to make it special for him. We had his family over for dinner that Sunday night to celebrate.
So, I try to surprise Wes every once in awhile. It gets harder though to think of things to do. This year, since we were busy with stake meetings on Saturday and Sunday, I decided to throw him a Surprise Party with a few friends and family that Friday. I had to lie to him only a few times :) but I was able to get him to the church without any suspicion. It was so funny how red his face turned when he found out he'd been had. We had a lot of fun. I made chicken alfredo with penne pasta, salad bar, french bread with garlic butter, a sweet lime drink, and everyone brought dessert to share. I set up a whole bunch of minute to win it games that were a lot of fun to participate in and of course, to watch. At the end I took about 15 minutes and did some instructional dancing to the tango. So FUN! and I tell ya SOOooo much easier to teach adults. I really appreciate all those that came and made it such a special and fun night for Wes. He was so cute afterwards when he gave me a hug and a kiss and said that was the Best Present EVER! YESSSS! So worth all the hard work to make my honey happy. He is so special, and I am so grateful for him- he deserves it.
